it's that time of year again ... there's a chill in the air and the days are getting shorter ... to me, that spells flannel time ... time to dig out the flannel jammies ... take off the summer sheets and replace them with flannel sheets ... a time for warm cider and soup ...
it's also, thankfully, the time for joann's to have a huge fabric sale ... i picked up some gorgeous flannels ...
aren't those fabrics stunning? ... not sure i'll be able to cut into those right away ...
of course the fabric store is not the only shop calling for dollars these days ...
i spent some time (and money) today on my garden and my planters but i think it was well worth it ... the old petunias and impatiens got put into the compost heap to feed next year's plants ... i moved my geraniums up against the house to stay warm for the winter and replaced the annuals with lovely colorful cabbages and chrysanthemums ...
can anyone else smell pumpkin pie? ... maybe it's just me ...
