balancing act ...

well the "bomb" is in the washing machine being felted ... attempts to hand felt failed miserably ... i followed the instructions ... just add hot hot water and dish detergent ... agitate ... of course the hole in the rubber glove was not helping the situation at all but i can attest to the temperature of the water ... scorching would be my best guess ...

here's the before picture ... how funny is that? ... i'm WAY out of my creative box now ...

so i'm sitting here reflecting on my day and trying to figure out how people "do it all" and what "it all" is ...

i have loads of laundry waiting, a dishwasher to empty (ok kids can do that), items to photograph and post on etsy, sweaters to be chopped, kids to get to soccer, never mind the garden clean-up and bulb planting, kids to get to eye doctor appointments, glasses to be picked up, glasses to be returned to optometrist when cherubs collide and damage glasses ...

and just when i think i'm getting on top of things, someone in the family gets sick or the cat upchucks something unrecognizable on the creamy carpet ... (sorry for that visual) ...

anyway, i'm truly not complaining about my life ... it's a gorgeous sunny day (and in the northwest we don't take these for granted although i am starting to expect them which is always a sign of a long wet winter) and i've been out for a walk with a friend, i've had some time with the sick cherub ... i've listed a lovely new knit hat on my etsy site (one check mark on the list) and soon it will be time to head to the soccer field for a game ...

just hoping that, for today, that can be "it all" ...

and breakfast for dinner is on the menu again ...
